Samsung Galaxy A71 review

VERDICT

The Samsung Galaxy A71 features four rear cameras with a large display of 6.7 inches and an enormous battery of 4.500 mAh at a price point that will not break the bank. It might be a successful formula.

With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy A71 at CES 2020, it claims it has reached exactly what customers want–large screens, loads of cameras and long battery life. Samsung’s renewed focus is on the smartphone mid-range sector.

This phone is no secret for the generation TikTok -a younger audience that is spending a lot of time online watching vast amounts of video content and making them.

Following the success of the re-launch of its 2019 A series, where the Galaxy A40 became the best seller in Europe and the UK, Samsung is expected to double in 2020, and the Galaxy A71 is at its peak behind the new Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite.

Samsung Galaxy A71 release date and price

We have been informed that the release date for the Samsung Galaxy A71 is early February but we still await a firm date. The Galaxy S11 launch happens to be delayed, however, on February 11. It is now live.

The price is £ 419, which is approximately $550 ($800), making the Samsung Galaxy A71 competitive in the market for its features. This should also mean equally strong contractual arrangements, but we have to wait until we know exactly what they are going to be.

Design and display

The Samsung Galaxy A71 architecture includes the enormous, 6.7 “screen. It dominates the front of the phone but fits better in the hand than you would imagine when there are minimal bezels around the side.

It uses Samsung’s Infinity-O screens technology, a punch-hole camera design at the top of the display, which we have seen on earlier devices from the firm. It remains in the notification bar, which takes it away from us so that it does not mess with general use.

The front camera uses more space on the A71, although it is the same lens as the cheaper Galaxy A51. The Galaxy A71 uses a Super AMOLED Plus screen, which is thinner and lighter (compared to Super AMOLED on the A51) but the drawback is that the camera cutout must be a bit bigger.

This is not a concern, but it is a shame that Samsung could not have here, too, a smaller version.

The Galaxy A71 is 163.6x 76x 7.7 mm and weighs 179 g, making the application relatively easy. However those with smaller hands will still find it huge, and it’s a battle-especially when used one-handedly, to stretch your thumb to the top.

You will find on the right easy access to power and volume keys, while on the lower side of the 25W fast charging USB-C port you will find an overhead jacket.

Round the back and Samsung has created an interesting and individualistic new Prism effect on their newest A series devices (the A71 and the A51).

In a variety of colors, including black, silver, blue and rosa, you can choose the Galaxy A71.

Change of attention to the display and the Super AMOLED Plus screen, which gives a vibrant punch, size 6,7 inches as we described.

Camera and battery

The Samsung Galaxy A71’s cameras are one of the great party pieces. Even with the slightly embarrassing light of the Samsung booth, this front-end, 32MP snapper produces high-quality shots that should please fans.

Four cameras are lined around the back and the Galaxy A71. A 64MP, f/1.8 main sensor and it provided detailed images from our short tests.

But, by tapping the icon on the screen to transform to the 123 °, 12MP, ultra-wide camera, you can fit more into your area. In addition to that, you get 5MP macro and 5MP deep cameras for close-up photography and background blur effects.

The camera interface is full of features, with many flagship modes and additions.

In terms of battery life, the Samsung Galaxy A71 may also be a star. Samsung’s 4,500mAh battery has been squeezed into the handset, which is larger than the Galaxy S10 Plus (4,100 meters above average) and the Galaxy Note (4,300 meters above age) batteries.

We don’t know how long a single charge will last, but we hope you can get up to two full days before you have a power outlet. In our in-depth Galaxy A71 analysis, we’ll be certain to test this early.

Performance and specs

The Samsung Galaxy A71 is powerful, with an Octa-Core processor and 6 GB of RAM in the driver seat (some of the regions are going to get 8 GB).

The devices run Android 10, which has been smooth and fast down, and 128 GB of storage is also available to play, which will be enough for many.

The Galaxy A71 also features a MicroSD slot that can accommodate cards up to 513 GB in size if you run out of space.

Early verdict

The Samsung Galaxy A71 is full of features from large screens to powerful cameras and huge batteries-that might well be an attractive price-point winning formulation.
